About the book

This is a very much a WorkFlowy-centric book and an exploration of metacognition. We'll take a deep dive into 2 parallel WorkFlowy systems I use to synthesize left brain/ right brain abilities.

Many WorkFlowy users have read and adopted the principles in my book, “The WorkFlowy Timeline”, and have found the super simple workflows therein to be transformative in many ways. However, we are complex creatures: we don’t automatically do the things we’ve planned to do. Besides having a seamless workflow, we also need the motivation to do the things that have been beautifully laid out before us.

The Zipper Effect will show you workflows and principles that allow for the consistent and automatic creation of motivation, ideation and inspiration. I’ll give you a perspective on developing intuitive workflows that allow you to immediately put your inspiration into practice – by integrating those otherwise fleeting ideas into your routine… in a systematic way.

Amongst the topics we'll be looking at:

  • A deep dive into the Socratic method: asking the right questions. We’ll tie this in to the concepts of my parallel system.

  • The highly practical dynamic of integrating micro-journaling (not your typical journaling) into your actual tasks and activities – which only an outliner like WorkFlowy can provide.

  • How to integrate journaling and your productivity system to constantly activate left and right brain capabilities.

  • Habit formation through powerful techniques I use with my coaching students

  • A discussion about the use of substances for inducing creativity and inspiration vs. what a systematic approach to creativity can give you

  • Technology that helps speed up capture and ideation

  • A sleep journal in WorkFlowy that puts your brain to work for you while you sleep.

  • ... and a whole lot more
